Enrollment for 2023-2024

Returning school families’ enrollment will open for the 2023-2024 school year on January 5th. Look for a re-enrollment email from TADS that first week back from the break to make your re-enrollment process easier. New families may begin enrolling on February 1st.

Please encourage any families interested in our school to contact either Mr. Klatt (rklatt@salemlutheran.org) for K-8 students or Mrs. Grobe (jgrobe@salemlutheran.org) for preschool students. Families interested in our school are also encouraged to sign up for a tour on our website!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

At the end of January, Salem will be having another round of Parent Teacher conferences. This will allow teachers to let parents know how their children are progressing with their studies and develop a plan for the students who need some assistance. It is always a joy to talk with families and continue to work together to further the education of their children.

Map Testing

At the end of January, Salem will be conducting their winter MAP testing session. This will be another set of data that the teachers will be able to use to help inform their teaching. It is also a good check for the students to see how they continue to learn and add to their knowledge to perform better on those tests.

Power Up

Salem will once again participate in Power Up. This program through the Lakeview Hospital encourages students to stay active in the winter and eat their fruits and vegetables. Some information may be sent home with the children, but what a great way we can work with our local hospital to help promote a healthy lifestyle.

Visiting Local Churches

Mr. Klatt will be heading out in January to visit local WELS churches and let them know about our preschool and school. The purpose is not to try and get families to leave their church, but to let them know that we have an option for Christian education here at Salem. We are hoping this helps families around the area know about Salem.

Referral Program

The School Board approved a program that gives an incentive to recruiting new families for our school. If a family who has children enrolled refers a new family to Salem, they will receive a $200 tuition credit at Christmas per family they have referred. A church family who refers a new family will receive a $200 script gift card also at Christmas per family if they so choose. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer. If you have any more questions about the program, speak to a School Board member or Mr. Klatt.

We Are Also Collecting Aluminum Cans and Pop Tabs

Aluminum cans benefit our athletic program and can be bagged up and placed in the wooden bin that is next to the garage facing Panama Ave. Mrs. Hasselquist and her class support The Ronald McDonald House by participating in the Pop Tab program. She has done this for over 16 years and they have collected over 200 lbs of pop tabs. The cash received goes directly to support Ronald McDonald House. They can be brought to the bin at the entrance to the school or to her classroom.

Prayer

One way we usually forget about how we can help our school and church is to pray for them throughout the year. Your prayers are always a blessing and it is great to know that you are asking God for his blessings in our school and church year.
