Basketball and Cheerleading Begin
The start of November brings the start of basketball season. Salem will have four teams this coming school year: Boys and Girls B-team and Boys and Girls A-team. We are excited to have a full slate of teams this year. The girls are excited to have a cheer team as well. Please check the School Sports Calendar for times and dates of games and practices. We thank Mr. Neal Anderson, Chad Hanson, Mr. Klatt, Mr. Jacob Buller, Luke Dorn, and Midori Howard for their willingness to coach this year. Go Saints!!!
Veteran’s Day Cards
Salem is planning on making Veteran’s Day cards again this year. The teachers have all of the students make cards and then we divide them up and take them to the different establishments where veterans can look through the cards.
Our girl’s A-team won the championship at the St. Croix tournament on October 14th. The girls had an amazing season, and we are excited to put up a new banner in the gym for their success.
The Disc golf team placed third in their Somerset tournament in early October. The team has continued to improve in their skills, and we are excited for them to continue improving throughout the season.

The School Board approved a program that gives the incentive to recruit new families for our school. If a family who has children enrolled refers a new family to Salem, they will receive a $200 tuition credit at Christmas per family they have referred. A church family who refers a new family will receive a $200 script gift card also at Christmas per family if they so choose. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer. If you have any more questions about the program, speak to a School Board member or Mr. Klatt.

We Are Also Collecting Aluminum Cans and Pop Tabs
Aluminum cans benefit our athletic program and can be bagged up and placed in the wooden bin that is next to the garage facing Panama Ave. Mrs. Hasselquist and her class support The Ronald McDonald House by participating in the Pop Tab program. She has done this for over 16 years and they have collected over 200 lbs of pop tabs. The cash received goes directly to support Ronald McDonald House. They can be brought to the bin at the entrance to school or to her classroom.

One way we usually forget about how we can help our school and church is to pray for them throughout the year. Your prayers are always a blessing and it is great to know that you are asking God for his blessings in our school and church year.
