Enrollment for 2025-2026

Please share the wonderful blessing of Christian education at Salem with others and have them sign up on our website for a tour. Our current school families have reenrolled for the 2025-2026 school year. We plan to use Blackbaud for financial aid and tuition payments in the coming year. This should help streamline our financial process for the office and benefit our families as well. If you have not enrolled in Blackbaud yet, please do so. Feel free to call the school office if you have any questions.

End of Year Before and After Care, and Lunch Charges

Please check your Gradelink account and pay any outstanding tuition (if not on a payment plan), BASC, and lunch fees. We appreciate your assistance in making the final payment. We need balances not on a payment plan, paid by June 30th. Thank you!

Classroom Aide Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic classroom aide to support our 1st and 2nd grade students and teacher in a part-time or full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will assist with daily classroom activities, provide individualized student support, and help create a positive learning environment for young learners.

For more information or questions, feel free to contact Principal Ryan Klatt at rklatt@salemlutheran.org.

Office Administrator Position

Salem Lutheran School is seeking a dedicated and professional School Office Administrator to join our team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to serve in a ministry-focused environment while supporting the daily operations of our school community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong human relations skills, excellent communication abilities, and professional telephone techniques who works well in both group and team settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of trust and integrity, with the ability to handle unexpected and difficult situations with discretion and confidentiality. This role requires someone who understands and supports the doctrinal standards of Salem and is committed to assisting in ministry opportunities for both members and nonmembers.

For more information or questions, feel free to contact Principal Ryan Klatt at rklatt@salemlutheran.org.

Summer Cleanup

As usual during the summer months, cleaning is taking place. The classroom carpets and tile are getting cleaned, chairs and tables are getting power-washed, Mrs. Stob is moving into Mrs. Hansen’s old room, and a new music room is taking shape. We are excited for all of the new changes, as well as some new opportunities for students this coming school year.

New Pastor (Pastor JonAlden Pedersen)

Many of you may have heard already that Salem received an assignment from our Seminary to be our second pastor. Pastor Pedersen and his family will be moving to the Somerset area in early July and will begin serving our members and school at that time. We will share a bio of him and his family in our next newsletter, as you will be seeing him around the campus and teaching Catechism in the Middle School.

Summer Tuesdays

Salem has annually had a booth at Summer Tuesdays in downtown Stillwater and plan to do so again this summer. Many teachers and board members are planning to help with the booth, but parents would also love to talk with parents of students who attend Salem. If you are comfortable helping with a craft and talking with parents about Salem, please reach out to Mrs. Grobe (jgrobe@salemlutheran.org) for more information on the event and how to sign up.

Future Library Plans

We thank Doris Baglo, who has been a huge blessing and faithful worker in our library through the years. We are moving our library books to the individual classrooms for students to select and use there in the future. You may look at the books in the school library and leave a donation if you would like any books from that room. The library room will be reused for church purposes next year. Please note that the church library books in the hallway are not for sale.

Referral Program

The school board approved a program that gave an incentive to recruit new families for our school. If a family that has children enrolled refers a new family to Salem, they will receive a $200 tuition credit at Christmas per family they have referred. A church family that refers a new family will receive a $200 script gift card at Christmas per family if they so choose. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer. If you have any more questions about the program, speak to a School Board member or Mr. Klatt.

We Are Also Collecting Aluminum Cans and Pop Tabs

Aluminum cans benefit our athletic program. They can be bagged up and placed in the wooden bin next to the garage, facing Panama Avenue. We apologize that this location is not easily accessible. We have had cans stolen, so we keep them hidden.  We will continue to support the Ronald McDonald House by participating in the Pop Tab program. The cash received goes directly to support the Ronald McDonald House. Cans can also be dropped off in the bin at the entrance to the school.

Prayer

One way we often overlook the opportunity to support our school and church is by praying for them throughout the year. Your prayers are always a blessing, and it is great to know that you are asking God for his blessings in our school and church year.
