School Updates over the Summer

We are busy getting ready for the new school year with many teachers organizing their classrooms. Mrs. Wolfe is moving into Mr. Stob’s room and Mr. Stob is moving into Mrs. Hasselquist’s classroom. Painting in some of the rooms is being planned and Mr. Erickson and Mr. Lamb are busy making our facility look great with all the projects they complete over the summer.

Salem at Summer Tuesday

Salem will be downtown Stillwater for Summer Tuesdays on July 11, 18, and 25. Come down and say hello! We will be hosting a booth those evenings with a craft for kids from 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Salem Participates in the Lumberjack Days Parade on July 16

We’re looking for people to help make our parade float a success. We need volunteers to help us decorate the float and prepare water bottles on July 15th at 10 am at church. We also need people to walk and/or ride in the parade on Sunday, July 16th. Check out the sign-up sheets in the church entry or email Pastor Wolfe (rwolfe@salemlutheran.org) if you are interested in helping or walking in the parade.

Referral Program

The School Board approved a program that gives an incentive to recruit new families for our school. If a family who has children enrolled refers a new family to Salem, they will receive a $200 tuition credit at Christmas per family they have referred. A church family who refers a new family will receive a $200 script gift card also at Christmas per family if they so choose. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer. If you have any more questions about the program, speak to a School Board member or Mr. Klatt.

We Are Also Collecting Aluminum Cans and Pop Tabs

Aluminum cans benefit our athletic program and can be bagged up and placed in the wooden bin that is next to the garage facing Panama Ave. We will continue to support The Ronald McDonald House by participating in the Pop Tab program. The cash received goes directly to support Ronald McDonald House. They can be dropped off in the bin at the entrance to the school.

Prayer

One way we usually forget about how we can help our school and church is to pray for them throughout the year. Your prayers are always a blessing and it is great to know that you are asking God for his blessings in our school and church year.
