The Salem Summer Program is a structured full-day program offering safe, enriching experiences for children entering Grades K–6.
Kids stay engaged with themed lessons, hands-on art activities, and plenty of daily outdoor time. Weekly field trips — both on and off campus — keep the summer exciting and full of new experiences.
With a small class size of 20 children, families can feel confident their children are in a nurturing, well-organized environment all summer long.
Salem’s Summer Program Hours:
- 7 am – 5 pm: Program Hours
- 7 am – 9 am: Drop off
- 3 pm – 5 pm: Pick up
Salem’s Summer Program is broken into 4 three-week sessions:
- Session 1: June 1 – June 19
- Session 2: June 22 – July 10
- Session 3: July 13 – July 31
- Session 4: Aug 3 – Aug 21
The cost of Salem’s Summer Program is broken down per session your child attends.
Each 3-week session costs $900
A $50 deposit is due at the time of registration. The deposit will go towards your session cost; it is not an additional fee.
The session fee includes all field trips, program t-shirt, and all program supplies.
There’s lots of exciting things to look forward to at the Salem Summer Program. Weekly themes guide daily lessons and art activities, keeping kids engaged, creative, and continually learning throughout the summer.
The following weekly themes are tentative and are subject to change. Format is Theme, Field Trip.

Session 1 – Week 3: World Cultures, Mongolian Circus at Stillwater Library
Session 2 – Week 1: Ocean and Marine Life, Madison’s Place Playground and Splashpad
Session 2 – Week 2: American Symbols, MN State Capitol
Session 2 – Week 3: Medieval Times and Knights, Fort Snelling
Session 3 – Week 1: Superheroes and Comics, Shoreview Commons Park
Session 3 – Week 2: Farming/Gardening, Llamas from Carlson Farm at Stillwater Library
Session 3 – Week 3: Engineering and building, The Works Museum
Session 4 – Week 1: Dinosaurs, Interstate Park
Session 4 – Week 2: Art and Colors, Lake St. Croix Overlook
Session 4 – Week 3: Weather, The Learning Jet
Parents are responsible for sending a lunch and snack for their children each day.
Program fees are due before the first day of each session you attend.
