Pioneers is a scouting-like organization whose purpose is to help its members experience a variety of activities while encouraging growth in a relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Pioneers is divided into a Boy Pioneers and Girl Pioneers, and welcomes boys and girls in grades K-8.

The Pioneers generally meet on Wednesday evenings. The leadership council meets the last Monday evening of the month at 7 p.m. to plan activities.

In addition to the regular meetings, we have special events such as a canoe trip, campouts, caroling, and maple syrup making.

Many of our outdoor events are held at the Manning Property, all others meetings are held at Salem Lutheran Church, unless otherwise specified.

Volunteer opportunities are always available for anyone who likes to work with young people. For more information about the Boy or Girl Pioneers at Salem, please email

Salem Lutheran Pioneers are affiliated with the National Lutheran Pioneers and the National Lutheran Girl Pioneers.
