Basic Bible Christianity

Lesson 15--Take Good Care

God has placed us here to manage all of his creation and all the gifts he has given to us. We are stewards (caretakers) of his blessings.

Lessons 13&14--Love Your Neighbor

Who is my neighbor? Jesus responded to that question with the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10) and showed that our neighbor is more than the person next door. Our neighbor is anyone in need of our loving care and concern.

Lesson 12--Love the Lord Your God

God wants to be first in our lives. He made us and has given us everything good we have. In love, he even gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, to buy us back from our sins. When we pause and think of God's goodness, we are filled with awe and amazement and can only say, "What a wonderful, gracious God we have!"

Lesson 11--Our Spiritual Heartbeat

Martin Luther once observed, "When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ commanded, 'Repent,' he willed that the whole life of the believer be one of repentance."
A heart that is repentant has a new outlook. The new person whom God has created now despises sin and renounces the devil, all his works, and all his ways. A repentant heart delights in Jesus' forgiveness.

Lesson 10--A Conversation with God

A conversation is a two way street. People take turns listening and speaking. Good communication fosters closeness and trust. God speaks to us in his Word, the Bible. He reveals his love, his plan of salvation and his holy will. If we want to know God, we will listen to his Word and learn from him.

Lesson 9--God Gathers His Church

God works in his mysterious way to gather people together. He binds believers to himself through faith in Jesus, and he connects Christians with one another in the church.

Lesson 8--God Works through Holy Communion

Before Jesus went to the cross and died, he left his disciples his last will and testament. Since it was first instituted, Christians have repeated and cherished the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Through his living Word and refreshing sacraments, the Lord, our Good Shepherd, feeds and nourishes his people.

Lesson 7--God Works through Holy Baptism

God doesn't just tell us of his love for us. He lets us know about his love and forgiveness in concrete, physical ways as he binds his promises to earthly elements and lets us experience his wonderful grace. Through the sacrament of Baptism, he comes to us in water and the Word.

Lesson 6--Why Do We Need the Bible?

There are some things that we know naturally. There are other things that we would never perceive on our own. These things must be revealed to us. Find out who revealed them, and how!

Lesson 5--The End Is Coming!

We know that this world can't last forever, but can we know how it will end? Can we know when the end will come? In the Bible, God has given us everything we need to know about the last days and the end of the world.
