About the Speakers

Rev. Bill Staab serves as an associate pastor at Salem Lutheran Church in Stillwater, MN. In addition to serving parishes in the Twin Cities area, he taught in area Lutheran High Schools for thirty years - including at St. Croix LHS - serving as guidance counselor and other roles. For nearly seven years he was a full-time Marriage and Family Therapist for The Lutheran Home Christian Family Services. In addition to his seminary training, he holds a Masters degree in Education/Community Counseling, with an emphasis on marriage and family issues. He and his daughter Rebecca Hillstrom have led several marriage retreats throughout the years.

Rebecca Hillstrom is the Department Head of Family Life Education at St. Croix Lutheran High School, teaching Foods/Nutrition and Child Development. Rebecca has a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary's University and was a co-counselor with her father at The Lutheran Home Christian Family Services. She is also the Life Center Director for Christian Life Ministries in the Twin Cities and has developed a mentoring program called STEP-N-UP, which promotes long-term relationships with clients dealing with crisis pregnancies. Rebecca is married to Darin Hillstrom and has two children.
