Instruction for Life

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE
(A Philososphy You Can Use)

  • Spend some time alone with God.
  • Pray. There's immeasurable power in it.
  • Remember that not getting what you pray for is sometimes God's answer.
  • Read more of God's Word and watch less TV.
  • Memorize your favorite Psalm(s).

  • Trust in God but lock your car so as not to tempt others.
  • Give more than is expected and do it cheerfully. God loves a cheerful giver.
  • Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.

  • Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. Do all things in moderation.
  • When you say, "I love you", mean it. Jesus did!
  • Believe in love at first sight. God loved you before you were born.
  • Remember that in the best relationship your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.
  • Be engaged at least six months before you get married. Don't rush, you will have 'til death before you part.
  • Marry someone you love to talk to. As you get older, conversation will be as important as anything else.
  • Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. Christ risked it all at Calvary.
  • Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
  • A loving atmosphere in your home is so important. Do all you can to create a tranquil harmonious home.
  • In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation. Don't bring up the past, forgiven wrongs should be forgotten wrongs.
  • Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. Today is a new day given by God, don't overlook its possibilities.

  • Talk slowly but think quickly.
  • Mind your own business.
  • When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  • Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
  • When you say, "I'm sorry", look the person in the eye and tell God also.

  • Don't judge people by their relatives, God doesn't.
  • When asked a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
  • Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  • Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze and say a prayer for them.
  • Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; Responsibility for all your actions.
  • Never laugh at anyone's hopes and beliefs. People who don't have either don't have much.
  • Smile when picking up the phone or engaging in conversation. The caller will hear it in your voice.

  • Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
  • Live a good, honorable life. When you get older and think back, you will enjoy it a second time.
  • Be the kind of person your mom and dad can be proud of.
  • Read between the lines.
  • Be gentle with the earth.
  • Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
  • Put your money to use helping others while you are living. That is wealth's greatest satisfaction.
  • Judge your successes by sacrifices made to achieve it and by the use of the talents God grants you.
