Lesson 10--A Conversation with God

A conversation is a two way street. People take turns listening and speaking. Good communication fosters closeness and trust. God speaks to us in his Word, the Bible. He reveals his love, his plan of salvation and his holy will. If we want to know God, we will listen to his Word and learn from him.

Lesson 11--Our Spiritual Heartbeat

Martin Luther once observed, "When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ commanded, 'Repent,' he willed that the whole life of the believer be one of repentance."
A heart that is repentant has a new outlook. The new person whom God has created now despises sin and renounces the devil, all his works, and all his ways. A repentant heart delights in Jesus' forgiveness.

Lesson 12--Love the Lord Your God

God wants to be first in our lives. He made us and has given us everything good we have. In love, he even gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, to buy us back from our sins. When we pause and think of God's goodness, we are filled with awe and amazement and can only say, "What a wonderful, gracious God we have!"

Lessons 13&14--Love Your Neighbor

Who is my neighbor? Jesus responded to that question with the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10) and showed that our neighbor is more than the person next door. Our neighbor is anyone in need of our loving care and concern.

Lesson 15--Take Good Care

God has placed us here to manage all of his creation and all the gifts he has given to us. We are stewards (caretakers) of his blessings.
